Selank
Also called N-acetyl selank amidate
Selank is a Russian-developed peptide built for calm.
This one has been through full clinical trials and is an approved medicine somewhere in the world. The ranges below are drawn from those trials and from what the community reports using.
- Focus & mood
The quick answer
Selank is a Russian-developed peptide built for calm. It works alongside your brain's own calming (GABA) system and props up your natural anti-anxiety signals - taking the edge off worry without the sedation, fog, or dependence that come with typical anti-anxiety meds.
Most people describe it as "calm focus" - the anxiety lifts and clarity comes with it, rather than any kind of stimulant push. Some of it is felt quickly, but the fuller effect builds over two to four weeks of steady use, and there's no withdrawal when you stop. Honest note: nearly all the research is Russian and hasn't been replicated in Western trials, so what we share reflects that work plus real-world experience.
Why people use it
😌 Eases anxiety without the fog; 🎯 Calm, steady focus; 🙂 Lifts mood and stress resilience; 🚫 No dependence or withdrawal; ⏱️ Fast-acting

- subcutaneous
- Evidence for this
- Small human studies
Described as taking the edge off without dulling anything - less mental noise rather than sedation.
VIAL: 10mg + 2ml BAC water = 5mg/ml, 0.5mg = 10u, twice daily. NASAL SPRAY: 10mg + 10ml BAC water into the spray bottle = 1mg/ml (0.1%). At a 100ul pump that is 0.1mg per spray; 2 sprays per nostril = 0.4mg per dose, twice daily. Bottle holds 100 sprays (~12 days).

What to expect, and when
- First thing people notice
- Days 1–3 (anxiety relief)
- When it gets real
- Weeks 1–2 (cognition)
- Where it peaks
- Weeks 2–4 (sleep, mood)
- Patience needed
- Low - fast responder
- Days 1–3Anxiety reduction & calm focus felt quickly
Selank is relatively fast-acting. GABA modulation produces an anxiolytic effect that most users notice within the first few days - sometimes the first injection. Described as a "quieting" of background anxiety without sedation or blunting. Stress feels more manageable.
- Weeks 1–2Cognitive clarity & memory improvements emerge
As BDNF upregulation builds over the first two weeks, cognitive improvements become noticeable - sharper memory consolidation, improved focus, better stress tolerance under cognitive load. These effects layer onto the immediate anxiolytic effect for a combined "calm productivity" experience.
- Weeks 2–4Sleep quality & mood stability peak
GABA-A modulation often produces the most meaningful sleep improvement in the second half of the cycle. Sleep depth and architecture improve. Mood stability - less reactivity to stress, more emotional resilience - is consistently reported by week 3–4. Cycle with equal rest periods to prevent receptor desensitization.
💡 Unlike most peptides, Selank can be felt quickly - sometimes same day. If you feel nothing after one week at the correct dose, check your reconstitution and storage. The anxiolytic effect is reliable enough that absence of any response is a useful diagnostic signal.
Side effects, and what people do about them
Lovely and gentle. A few people feel a little extra mellow at higher doses, and nasal versions can tickle the nose. No dependence or withdrawal - one of the easiest on the list.

How it actually works
Heptapeptide built from tuftsin, an immune-derived fragment, with a stabilising tail. It modulates GABA-A receptor expression and monoamine balance, and raises BDNF - the growth factor associated with neural plasticity. It is anxiolytic without being sedating, which is the practical signature.
For stacking, it is routinely paired with semax and the pairing makes mechanistic sense: semax comes from ACTH and works mainly through BDNF and NGF and dopaminergic tone, while this works largely through GABAergic tone. Different routes, overlapping only at BDNF.
What people report, in full
Selank's big draw is that it calms anxiety without the sedation or dependence of traditional anti-anxiety meds - people describe it as "calm focus." Around 75–80% report a real drop in anxiety, usually building over the first two to three weeks, with higher-anxiety folks responding best; the other 20–25% notice little. Two themes come up repeatedly: it's cumulative, so people who quit early miss the benefit, and sourcing quality really matters - a degraded peptide often means no effect. It's used both as an injection and a nasal spray.
