Semax
Also called N-acetyl semax amidate, NA semax
Semax is Russia's other well-loved nootropic peptide - a focus-and-clarity tool built from a fragment of the ACTH hormone, but stripped of the stress-hormone effects.
This one has been through full clinical trials and is an approved medicine somewhere in the world. The ranges below are drawn from those trials and from what the community reports using.

The quick answer
Semax is Russia's other well-loved nootropic peptide - a focus-and-clarity tool built from a fragment of the ACTH hormone, but stripped of the stress-hormone effects. It works mainly by raising BDNF and NGF, the signals that help your brain stay sharp and adaptable.
People describe cleaner focus, better recall, and more mental stamina under pressure - a clear-headed feel with none of the jitters or crash of a stimulant. A neat quirk: the effects seem to outlast its short time in the bloodstream, lingering for hours. It's usually taken in the morning, ideally as a nasal spray, and cycled rather than run non-stop. As with Selank, most human data is Russian-language, so regard it as promising research plus experience.
Why people use it
🧠 Sharper focus and concentration; 💡 Better memory and recall; 💪 Mental stamina under stress; 🛡️ Neuroprotective; ⚡ Clean energy, no jitters

Used by people who felt the standard dose working and wanted more, or for demanding stretches.
VIAL: 10mg + 2ml BAC water = 5mg/ml, 0.5mg = 10u, once daily AM. NASAL SPRAY: 10mg + 10ml BAC water into the spray bottle = 1mg/ml (0.1%) — the registered cognitive strength. At a 100ul pump that is 0.1mg per spray; 2 sprays per nostril = 0.4mg per dose, once daily AM. Bottle holds 100 sprays (~25 days).

What to expect, and when
- First thing people notice
- Day 1 (acute focus)
- When it gets real
- Weeks 2–3 (sustained cognition)
- Where it peaks
- Weeks 3–4 (neuroplasticity)
- Patience needed
- Low - Day 1 effect
- Day 1Acute focus improvement (most users report day 1)
Semax produces noticeable focus improvement on day 1 for most users - making it one of the fastest-acting compounds in the stack. This is the acute alertness and cognitive engagement effect. It fades within hours (Semax has a short plasma half-life) - which is why consistent twice-daily dosing is important.
- Weeks 2–3Sustained cognitive enhancement & memory improvement
The BDNF-mediated neuroplasticity effects take 2–3 weeks to consolidate. Memory formation, verbal recall, and task persistence improve meaningfully. Most patients at clinical practices report the clearest cognitive gains in weeks 2–3. The acute daily focus effect is now supported by structural neuroplasticity changes.
- Weeks 3–4Mood stabilisation & drive peak
The combination of BDNF-driven neuroplasticity and dopaminergic modulation produces improved drive, motivation, and mood stability by weeks 3–4. The cumulative effect is described as "clear-headed, composed productivity." BDNF changes may persist for days to weeks after the cycle ends - a residual benefit.
Morning injection is non-negotiable. Semax is activating - evening doses disrupt sleep for a meaningful proportion of users, which directly undermines the BDNF-sleep consolidation that produces the memory improvements. The timing rule is clinical, not arbitrary.
Side effects, and what people do about them
Similarly easy. Occasionally someone feels a touch wired or gets a mild headache if the dose runs high, and nasal forms can sting a little - both easily solved by easing the dose back. No dependence. Most people find it very smooth.

How it actually works
A fragment of ACTH - amino acids 4 to 10 - with a proline-glycine-proline tail added to stop it being broken down immediately. The steroidogenic part of ACTH is not present, which is why it does not raise cortisol despite its parentage. It raises BDNF and NGF and modulates dopaminergic and serotonergic transmission.
For stacking, the useful pairing is selank, which reaches partly overlapping ground by a different route. The thing not to assume is a cortisol effect: this is ACTH's cognitive fragment with the hormonal machinery removed.
What people report, in full
Semax is the go-to "clean focus" peptide, especially among knowledge workers, and it pairs naturally with Selank for anxiety-free concentration. About 70–75% report sharper focus and clarity, typically building over one to two weeks, with people who lean toward ADHD-type attention responding strongest; a quarter or so notice little. A few consistent notes: it works best when you actually put it to use on demanding mental work (passive use does little), the nasal spray kicks in faster than injecting, and a minority don't love its bitter taste.
