Epitalon is derived from a pineal-gland extract, and the earliest change users report is improved sleep, often within the first week of a course. Preliminary evidence suggests it may influence melatonin synthesis and circadian signalling, which is a plausible mechanism for this effect. How it actually works
Tetrapeptide, alanine-glutamate-aspartate-glycine. The two proposed mechanisms are activation of telomerase and regulation of pineal function including melatonin rhythm. The telomerase work is largely cell-culture and animal; the pineal and rhythm work comes mainly from a Russian clinical literature that is small and hard to appraise from outside.
No receptor competition with anything else in common use, so mechanistically there is nothing here that argues against combining it. That is a weaker statement than it sounds - an absence of known interaction is not evidence of benefit from one.
